Rules governing the use of the computer labs

As a condition of being accepted as network users, all students agree to be bound by the guidelines set out in the University document "Acceptable use of information technology facilities by students". The Registration process, undertaken from any of the machines provides students with "account" information such as username, email address and importantly the provision to register their individual access password.

Although students from other faculties are able to use the Law Faculty's Computer Facility, law students performing research tasks are given priority access. Within the faculty, research also takes priority over use of word processing, spreadsheet, database and email tasks (in that order). 

When all machines are occupied, students using email may be asked to vacate machines to make way for researchers.
