Undergraduate FeesCommonwealth Supported Place (CSP) PaymentsThe CSP scheme has replaced the HECS scheme. Under legislation approved by the Australian government, all higher education students are required to contribute to the cost of their higher education. Information about CSP fees and payments. Fee liable places for Australian studentsThe Australian Government is phasing out places in undergraduate domestic full fee-paying (FEE) courses from 1 January 2009. As a result, there will be no full fee-paying places (previously VTAC Type 2 courses) offered to students commencing an undergraduate university course in 2009. There are some exceptions to the availability of full fee-paying courses in 2009, including arrangements for continuing and deferred students, and for students who enrol in employer-reserved places. Continuing Students Students who enrolled in a full fee-paying university course before 1 January 2009 will be able to continue their studies on a full fee-paying basis in 2009. Current full fee-paying students at Monash University are encouraged to speak with Admissions staff at Monash if they require any further advice on their course. Deferred Students Students who were offered a place in a full fee-paying university course in 2008 and deferred until 2009 will be able to commence their studies in this course on a full fee-paying basis in 2009. Information about enrolling deferred full fee-paying university courses will be provided by Monash University. Transferring from Full Fees to a CSP in LawPlease see Monash University Scholarship opportunities for current information. Cost of Local and International Fee Paying Places in 2008/09The table below outlines the cost for the single Bachelor of Laws degree at Monash University, as well as the cost for double degrees combined with law. The total cost of double degrees with law varies according to the second discipline studied, the number of units (subjects) required for the course and the length of time taken to complete the course. An average full-time study load for one year consists of eight units, totalling 48 credit points of study. The actual fee for each unit depends on the credit point value of the unit, but most units have a credit point value of six points. It should be noted that the course structure for some law courses requires students to undertake more than eight units in some years (if they wish to complete the course in the minimum time). This will result in higher fee costs in those years. 2008 course fees: Faculty of Law
2009 course fees: Faculty of Law
Fees for subsequent yearsFor future years of your course, Monash University reserves the right to adjust annual tuition fees. However the University undertakes that any adjustment factor will not exceed 6% per annum and will be applied on the 1st of January each year for that calendar year. |
